The review process for applications usually takes approximately 8 weeks before the final admission results are announced. We will send you the admission result by email.
Upon successful acceptance of your application, you will receive a Letter of Invitation from NTU, the Consent Letter from the Ministry of Education, and a registration notice. These documents will provide important information for your enrollment at NTU.
Visa
You should obtain a visa to study in Taiwan with the documents provided by NTU. Failure to obtain a proper visa will result in early program termination.

If you hold a Mainland China Passport, you will need to enter Taiwan with an Entry Permit instead of a visa. Entry Permit information and procedures will be provided through email or contact the NTUOIA coordinator if you have concerns.
Insurance
Before coming to Taiwan, you are required to submit proof of medical and accident insurance 14 days before your registration date.Sufficient insurance constitutes one the following:
1. Accident insurance the minimum coverage must exceed NT$1,000,000 (approximately USD 34,000). 2. Medical insurance minimum coverage must exceed NTD 1,000,000 (approx. USD 34,000). Usually, travel insurance contains these two insurances.
Medical Examination
If your program duration is 90 days or more, you need to visit a clinic and ask a doctor to complete the medical examination form. Please submit the original hard copy of the completed medical examination form to NTU Health Center (map) to get the stamp in the registration sheet before the registration.
Alternatively, you can do the medical examination at a Taiwan hospital within 14 days of arrival (list). Do the health exam as soon as possible after arrival as obtaining the report may take some time. An incomplete health exam form will delay your registration.
Fee Payment
In the admission result email, the program manager will notify you with the amount of program fee that you should pay. Bring enough cash with you, and pay on the day of registration.
For Mainland passport holders, you will need to pay an additional TWD 1,000 for the handling fee for the entry permit application.
Pre-Arrival Guidebook
The Pre-arrival Guidebook is a handbook designed for prospective visiting students. It contains useful information and guidelines related to topics such as “Visa,” “Finance,”Survival Information”, and “Maps”, which can assist you in making necessary preparations before your arrival in Taiwan.
However, please note that chapters such as “NTU Identity,” “Course Selection,” and “Health Exam and Insurance” are not applicable to research visiting students.
