In the 2025 spring semester, NTU proudly welcomes 500 international students from 53 countries! A series of exciting orientation activities have officially kicked off, starting with the online Meet and Greet during the winter break, where senior students warmly welcomed new friends. Through campus tours, orientation sessions, earthquake simulator experiences, non-degree student registration, and Mandarin placement tests, newcomers are quickly getting familiar with NTU while fostering cultural exchange and forming friendships beyond borders.
Prof. Hsiao-Wei Yuan, the Vice President for International Affairs, encouraged new students to actively participate in events such as the World Carnival and Host Family Program, where they can share their cultural backgrounds and immerse themselves in Taiwanese society, making campus life more vibrant and diverse. She also invited students to take advantage of NTU’s forest resources, such as Xitou, to experience the healing power of forest therapy amidst their academic pursuits.
International Companions for Learning – ICL program has been established for over 10 years since its founding in 2015, with steady growth in participation. Prof. Jiun-Huei Wu, the program’s founder, hopes that through ICL, international students can gain deeper insights into Taiwanese culture and build meaningful connections with local communities.
The orientation session also featured a special invitation to
TaiwanPlusto share practical insights into Taiwanese culture and local highlights for international students. The platform provides an English-language resource to help them access firsthand news and information about Taiwan.
Get ready for the Azalea Festival, NTU Campus Marathon, World Carnival, and more. We look forward to creating unforgettable memories together at NTU!
