Explore the diverse courses offered at NTU and step by step guide on how to register for courses
No matter if you are here to complete a degree at NTU or if you are an exchange student ready to study abroad, you might be curious about the list of courses of various programs and departments at NTU. The below sources of information can be useful for you if you are currently in search of suitable courses.
Please find the apps below at myNTU where you can search for all courses at NTU:
This is the newest course information system. List of courses offered is updated approximately 1 month before the beginning of the semester.
NTU Course Information System (also called “NTU ONLINE“) gives different ways of searching for courses. There are different ways to look for courses in the Course Information System, of which the most popular are: - Fast Search: You can search for courses by course title, instructor name, course number, serial number, keyword, etc. - Courses Conducted in English: You can search for only English-taught courses. - Courses by Department/Grad. Institute: You can search for courses offered by specific College and Department.
If you are not able to log in to the Online Course Information, you may try to log in to Online Course Information II. It is the same system. Be sure to select the correct semester from the drop-down list. Click on the course title to check for the course information or syllabus. If you have further questions about the course, contact the professor directly.
The NTU Curriculum Mapping System lists courses offered at NTU in the past 10 years, but it does not allow you to search for courses by the language of instruction. The system gives information on the educational objectives of specific departments, and the courses are labeled with the core capabilities they cover, making it easy to determine if a department’s focus aligns with your interests or if a course covers the topic you need.

Course selection at NTU consists of three stages. You will need to go through all three stages to successfully enroll in all the courses you need. Check the University Calendar for the exact dates of each stage or look out for email reminders.
1. Course Pre-Registration Stage 1 takes place around three weeks before the beginning of the semester
2. Course Pre-registration Stage 2 takes place around two weeks before the beginning of the semester
3. Add/Drop Period takes place during the first two weeks of the semester
Below you can find a rough explanation of the differences between the three stages.
Course selection at NTU can be quite complicated. We strongly recommend you also ask your International Student Volunteer or a fellow NTU student for help navigating course selection.
For more detailed and most up-to-date information, please visit the NTU Course Selection System.
During Course Pre-Registration Stage 1, priority is given to students registering for courses in their home department. You should sign up for all the courses you need that are offered by your department during the 1st Course Selection Period. Pre-registration is like a wish list. You submit your request for courses, but your registration for these courses is not confirmed until indicated as so on the results after the end of this stage.
As many students will login to the Course Selection System simultaneously when it opens, you are strongly recommended to plan your course list beforehand.
NTU Course Information System offers a module, My Class Schedule, to help you see what your schedule may look like and resolve any time conflicts.
This is for your reference only and it does not constitute registration for courses. You must register courses in the Course Selection System during the course selection period.
Be sure to check the results from this period before the next one begins, so that you can plan for which courses you still need before the next stage begins.
During the Course Pre-registration Stage 2 you can check for the results. If you did not get all the courses you wanted to enroll in you can select them again or you can add new courses. Please remember that you should not register for any course with a curriculum number similar to the one of any of the confirmed courses.
This stage is where you can make final touches to your class schedule. After classes begin, you may attend as many classes as you wish during the first two weeks while simultaneously adding/dropping courses.
During this period, you can add courses by the course type. You can find the type of the courses in the NTU Course Information System.
The course is added directly on a first-come first-served manner until the number of students registered for the course reaches 400.
The courses requires a permission number that can be obtained from the course instructor. If you received the permission number you need to enter the number in the Course Selection System to add the course.
You will be added to a waiting list for the selected course. After, the System will distribute the course randomly until the maximum capacity is reached.
Check that there are no time conflicts in your class schedule and drop courses as needed during the Add/Drop period. If you have any time conflicts between courses, the Course Selection System will drop both classes from your schedule.
You can still withdraw from a course after the Add/Drop Period. To withdraw from a course, please follow these steps.
1. Go to myNTU >> Courses >> Withdrawal Application System.
2. Complete the process online and print out the Course Withdrawal Application Form.
3. Obtain approval from the course instructor, your department head, and the Office of Academic Affairs by getting their signatures on the form.
4. Submit the signed form to the Office of Academic Affairs before the deadline for the withdrawal to take effect.
After successful withdrawal, a mark of “W” will appear on your official academic report (transcripts) for the course you withdrew from.
If you stop attending a course without proper withdrawal, you will fail the course and you grades will be impacted.
For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the Office of Academic Affairs website. Check the University Calendar for the withdrawal deadline.
