There are also college- and department-level exchange programs at NTU, and information will be different. Double check that you are on the right page for information.
Embark on a transformative educational journey and broaden you horizon at NTU. There are two options for studying short-term at NTU.
There isn’t much difference between the two programs other than the quota limitation and tuition waiver for the Exchange Student Program. Academic resource availability are the same for both exchange and visiting students.
Nomination by Home University
Students need to be first nominated by the home university before applying for the NTU exchange student program. Check with the study abroad office at your home university for possibility of exchanging to NTU.
Language Proficiency
English language proficiency at least CEFR B2: For example, TOEFL iBT: 71; IELTS: 5.5 OR Chinese language proficiency at least CEFR B1: For example, Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL): B and B Level 3; Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK): Level 5
GPA of at least 3.0 on 4.0 scale
Non-Taiwan an Citizenship
Those with multiple citizenships may apply even if one of the citizenships is Taiwan.
Note: Mainland China passport holders should refer to the information in Chinese.
Current Student Status at a Non-Taiwan Higher Education Institution
Either undergraduate or graduate students who have studied for at least one semester at the home university when applying for this program.
Your home university must be included in the reference list issued by the Ministry of Education, R.O.C. You can find the reference list on this link. Please ensure that your university is listed.

Welcome Activities are held one week before the class begins. All admitted students are required to fully attend the welcome activities. Absence in the welcome activities will result in the cancellation of the admission.
Program Duration
One academic year or two semesters is the maximum study period possible for exchange and visiting students.
Fees
Exchange students are waived of tuition at NTU, but there are other fees that needs to be paid.
Visiting students are responsible for NTU tuition and program fees.
Other expenses, such as living costs and housing, are not included in the tuition and are the students’ responsibility.

Courses at NTU
Course information for an upcoming semester is available from the month immediately before the semester starts; August for the First (Fall) Semester; January for the Second (Spring) Semester.

For questions regarding a specific field/course, please contact the department offering the course or the instructor directly.
Not all courses are available to exchange or visiting students. We recommend you check the “Limits on Course adding/dropping” column in the above NTU course Information or ask the corresponding Colleges and Departments at NTU for course availability.
Chinese Courses

Program Requirements and Restrictions
NTU requires exchange students to take at least 2 courses or 4 NTU credits per semester. Double check that you fulfill requirements for your home university as well.
Exchange and visiting students are allowed to take up to 25 NTU credits (for undergraduate) or 20 NTU credits (for graduate) per semester.

The College of Medicine requirements:

Scholarships are generally for degree students but the following scholarships might be available to exchange students:
The aforementioned MOFA scholarships are awarded to a limited number of students and the list of eligible universities may vary each semester. To be considered, students must be nominated by their home university. The Office of International Affairs will provide detailed information about the nomination process directly to the partner universities.
