The Second Mentor Project is an initiative by the Office of International Affairs, supported by current and retired NTU faculty members, both domestic and international. This project aims to assist overseas degree students, including international, overseas Chinese, and Mainland Chinese students, in adapting to life at NTU and in Taiwan.
Second Mentor
Your Second Mentor will be someone who helps you navigate and simplify the challenges of settling in. This person could share your language and culture, have common interests and hobbies, or simply understand the struggles of being “international” at NTU. We hope you’ll find a friend among our faculty members—someone you can turn to when you’re having a tough day, need advice, or just want to share some great news.
Benefits
By joining the project, you will:
Meet other international students from various departments.
Learn the unwritten rules of everyday life at NTU and in Taiwan from experienced faculty members.
Receive support for your academic pursuits and personal development.
Eligibility
All interested overseas degree students (including international, overseas Chinese, and Mainland Chinese students) are welcome to join the project. Please note that participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. If our mentors are unable to accommodate all students this semester and you do not secure a spot, you will be given priority for the next semester.
Mentor Sign Up
If you are interested in joining the project as a Second Mentor, please complete the survey to sign up.
Mentee Application
If you are interested, please complete the online survey. We will regularly match you with a Second Nentor. The Second Mentor Project is intended to provide additional support alongside the existing mentor system.
